Welcome to my little corner of the site. This is an area where I can tell everyone about the kids and what's going on with our life. It's a nice way for me to relay information so you can pick and choose how much you wish to take in at one time. it's like an on-line holiday newsletter.

Sara is almost finished with Kindergarten. She can read like an old pro and she's learning to write in cursive. Ballet ends for the summer in June and she is looking forward to swimming lessons at that time. She tells me that she wants to be four things hen she grows up: a ballerina, an Olympic gymnast, a swimmer and a tap dancer. She will spend the summer with Erin (her nanny) again and she is ready for some fun. We've made the decision to let Sara repeat kindergarten next year. She is keeping up with the other children academically and socially, but physically she is a lot smaller and she tires more easily. Some of the children in her class are a year and a half older than her and we thought it best to let her be with children her own age rather than being the youngest in the class. She plans to begin ballet again in the fall and she wants to try out for the Nutcracker. Sara spends a lot of time playing with Michele. They've become the best of friends.

Michele is getting big and cuter every day. She still hasn't mastered the walking thing, but she's close. She is concentrating much more on talking and is really getting the hang of it. She says Daddy, Mommy, something that sounds like Sara, baby, pretty, dolly, bear and her favorite - HI. She is a real Daddy's girl. Anything that she loves is called a Daddy (Mickey Mouse, stuffed animals, etc...). When Michael walks into the room, her legs start kicking like crazy, she gets a huge smile on her face and her arms go right up to him. She really likes to eat. We haven't found the food that she'll turn down yet. She drinks from a cup with a little help. Her favorite thing to do is turn on Sara's CD player and dance with her big sister. The first surgery for her thumb is scheduled for August 6th. We're a little apprehensive because it is a big operation, but we have all the confidence in the world in the doctors we've chosen. The second surgery will be sometime in September. Michele will be spending the summer with Erin and Sara. Judging by how much she loves the water in her bath, she's going to be a water baby this summer. I can't wait to see her in a bathing suit.

Michael and I are doing fine. InStream is treating me very well. I work from home three days a week and in the office two. I've had the opportunity to do some real programming. I've been working in Visual Basic and I'll be learning Delphi over the next few weeks. It is challenging, fun and I really like the people I work with. Michael has used his free time to add to his arsenal of skills. He taught himself HTML and Java and I think he has mastered it. This web site is a tribute to his hard work and I'm very proud of him.

You may or may not know that we have another project in development. On or around December 5th we will release the newest version of our lineage (the little red and yellow one in the above picture). The pregnancy is going well and is still on schedule. My doctor's will be keeping a close eye on me this time. I'm feeling great and we're starting to get excited (now that the initial shock has worn off). I will find out whether or not I have to buy 'boy clothes' around the middle of June. Keep an eye here for the pre-release notes and you can find out too. Sara is happy about the baby, but she is afraid that it will mean too much work for her. She would like another girl because she's not sure how to relate to boys. She also chooses a new set of names every week.

That's the scoop on the Halter's. I'll update this page as often as I can. Things don't change that quickly in our lives. We wish everyone a fun and safe summer.
